W~ Weeping Willow

Old man fingers stretch--
While willow weeps wistfully
dangled branches play.

  1. I got so excited when I saw your W! Weeping Willow is a tree I've had a lifelong love for. Beautiful haiku for a beautiful tree. Well done. :)

    1. I have never had one in my yard, but I do drive around for places to sit under them to write. I love the trees.

    1. Yes, they are Paula. Almost like a painting, slightly surreal.

  4. Willows are so beautiful, and so versatile. Loved climbing them and hiding in them.

    1. I hadn't thought about that aspect Jo. I can imagine with the tiny leaves, they would make quite a mess in the fall!

    2. The leaves, yes, but mostly weeping willows weep. Sappy drippings all summer long and very heavily in the fall.

    3. That explains the name better than the branches that appear to be weeping. Yes, I can see that becoming a mess!
