One of my all-time favorites is the Blue Spruce. The needles are soft to the touch (if you go the right direction) and that bluish tint is so pretty to see... I like the shape of them too. :-)
They really do smell wonderful Kathy. When I am out in the yard, sometimes I just grab a few of the needles and roll them through my fingers so that I can carry the scent with me while I work.
One year we had an early freeze, and I took off with my camera in hand. The sprinklers were still on at most of the businesses, because winter was not expected for several weeks. The result were the most beautiful icicles dangling from weighted bright green branches. I had the macro on for hours!
I am also a graphic designer. I made the images to match the blog (and the background) so that it would be as peaceful as Haiku is to me, and then just posted it to the left of the text :-)
I love evergreens! About to have all the dead ones finally ripped out and replaced with brand new srpite evergreen babies!

DeleteEvergreens are so beautiful... especially in the winter. That said-- I love wearing sandals!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Jenn

DeleteI may become a Haiku fan after all!
ReplyDeleteEvergreens are one of the few pleasures of winter.
Sandals are one of the many pleasures of summer!

Yes! Hooked :-)
DeleteEvergreens are lovely, and when frosted with snow, become dazzlingly beautiful.

DeleteMissed this yesterday - I love it! You evoke the season's change in so few words, amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the wonders of Haiku :-) (probably part of why I like it so much).
