Summer's Kiss

Faded petals cling
spring ends where summer begins - 
hot shadows linger.

Skin

Sun puddles shimmer
Over fresh dew kissed petals--
Pink skin bare beneath.

The Gloaming~

Spotlight rains downward--
Gloaming sky meets sun and moon
to dance before you.

Traditional Haiku

Haiku is traditionally about the combination of human life,and seasons. It is intended to be so. Though I find many on the web who post with their only concern keeping the 5-7-5 syllable rhythm. It's hard to break tradition that was taught so many years ago by someone who took the art seriously. Now I find it is difficult to enjoy it, without the season's presence.

It doesn't have to be a bold statement of seasons, but something subtle to relay a mixture of human life, and seasons...

Words weave warm branches--
Contrast between human form
nature's breath painted.

Or an emotion captivated in the way a season played into it...

Love's touch awakens,
exhilarates summers kiss:
Trembling lips meet.

But the season must be present. 

Hazy Day

Hazy days pretend--
Shadows dance in clouds above
all that is below.

Spring Paused~

Cool air wraps around
bold clouds against blue backdrop:
hints of spring waiting

Grasshopper Morning

Where sidewalks converge,
Damp grass slides beneath bare feet:
Early morning dew.

Petals Welcome

Purple petals open:
Anticipate morning breath--
Springtime has arrived.

Quiet Breezes

Sun lined wind sweeps slow
touching smooth, skin landscapes -
She waits for the warmth.

Honeycomb~

Honeycomb caverns
liquid humming creation:
warmed golden drizzle

Sunshine~

Sunshine pouring down,
Is the only rain today --
Dream gardens planted.

Moon Man~

His presence commands--
Moon balances in dark sky
proclaims night in light.

Spring Rain~

Gentle rain taps tones
on concrete where fast feet meet--
Dewdrop spirit forms.

Beneath the Tree~

Clouds add spring contrast:
Sun-fingers play with shadows
between branches here.

Full figure ladies --
Top heavy petals swaying
summer's vivid hues.
